Read your electricity, gas and water meters in the old and new flat on the day you move in.
Redemption sum
Talk to your new tenant about the sale of permanently installed items such as built-in cupboards. As a rule, the tenant has to remove all objects that have been brought in. Check whether your employer will take over a share of any overlapping rents.
Change of address
Inform everyone you want to know about your move well in advance.
File archiving

Approach
Please inform your confern removal consultant in detail about the access options to your new home. Our vehicles are only allowed to load and unload in unrestricted no-parking zones with special permission. Please inform us if there is a no-stopping zone in front of your house or if the available parking spaces are often occupied. We will then obtain a stopping permit and set up a stopping zone.
Offer
Find out in good time about the quality and performance of the companies you invite to submit a bid. A confern offer is non-binding and free of charge.
Log in
The sooner you register yourself and your family with the relevant residents' registration office, the better. Depending on the federal state, deadlines of one to two weeks apply, within which relocating persons must have registered.

Talk to the new owner or your next tenant in good time about selling the (satellite) antenna.

Pharmacy
Check your medicine cabinet again and make sure that it is not packed with you, so that you have all the necessary medicines and bandages at hand during the move.
Aquarium
Prepare small sealable, unbreakable containers - filled with water - and carefully lift the fish out of the aquarium into the containers. Plants should be kept moist in special containers.
Work permit

Special advice is important here, simply because of different regulations in the individual countries.your confern advisor knows them and will be happy to inform you.
Foreign removals with confern
are usually transported by road within Europe by furniture truck. confern has partner companies in Europe that know all about customs formalities and country regulations. We offer you the same advantages for international removals as for domestic removals.
Outdoor lift
An outdoor lift is a technical aid in the confern range of products. It is used when indoor lifts and staircases are unsuitable for transport.
Babysitter
Do you have small children? Then you should get a babysitter for moving day. After an exciting walk through the zoo or to the next adventure playground, your little ones will be much more balanced and calm when it's time to go.
Bank
Think about finding a new house bank in good time. They will help you with all the necessary things, especially the conversion of all standing orders and direct debit authorisations.
Additional cargo
Our confern fleet is on the road everywhere in Germany. Also for your additional cargo. Ask your confern consultant.
Damage
In order to prevent the expiry of claims for compensation, the following must be observed: Inspect the goods on delivery for externally visible damage or loss. Record these in detail on the acknowledgement of receipt or a damage report or report them to the carrier partner on the day after delivery at the latest. Damage or loss that is not externally visible must be specified to the confern partner within 14 days of delivery. If the notification is made after delivery, it must in any case be made in writing and within the specified time limits. The notification may also be made by means of a telecommunication device. Timely dispatch shall be sufficient to comply with the time limits.
Broom clean
When you leave your old flat, it should usually be "swept clean". We can organise a professional end-of-home cleaning for you. Talk to your confern advisor.
Flowers
If you have to move in winter, you should move your houseplants and flowers to a cool room in good time so that they get used to colder temperatures and do not die due to a temperature shock during transport.
Boats
with or without a trailer are transported by us. We organise the professional transport. Talk to your confern consultant.
BUKG
The Federal Relocation Expenses Act (Bundesumzugskostengesetz) regulates the remuneration for civil servants and employees of the public service with regard to relocation. Your confern advisor knows this regulation and our offers corresponding BUKG provisions.

Whether you have 10 employees or 2,000, there is one thing that company relocations have in common: the interruption to the business should be as short as possible. The loss of work due to a poorly organised move is sometimes higher than the transport costs. Our handyman service will install your fitted kitchen, light fittings and professionally connect your washing machine and dishwasher. Your confern advisor will organise the work to be carried out on time.
Caretaker
Please inform your caretaker about the upcoming move. Discuss the possibility of using the lift for the move.
Packing household goods
Would you like to pack some personal items yourself? We will be happy to deliver boxes to you before your move; as many as you want! Delivery is free of charge.
Household contents insurance
Check your household contents insurance on the occasion of the move. Often the value of the household effects is much higher than on the day you moved in, because many things were purchased. The previous sum insured can be an indication of the sum insured to be declared.
Pets
Your housemates such as dog, cat and canary will certainly be happy if they are accommodated with friends on moving day, because they would only be out of place anyway during the to and fro of the move. Storage and confern
If you have household goods that you do not need temporarily, we store them in our furniture warehouse. It is guarded, clean and dry - so proper storage is guaranteed. If you need something from the stored goods, this is of course possible. For short-term storage, we provide you with special storage containers in which the removal goods remain - there is no need to unload them at the warehouse and reload the lorry. It goes without saying that we are happy to carry out the transport to and from the warehouse for you. Ask for our storage information!
Lamps
Please discuss the disassembly and reassembly of the lamps with your confern consultant. The professional installation of the lamps in your new home will be carried out by an electrician whom we will commission for you on schedule (confern craftsman service).
Lampshades
are particularly sensitive and expensive removal goods. They are removed and specially packed for transport.
Food
If they are perishable, you should use them up before moving. You should use up the contents of the freezer as much as possible.

Used packing material can be collected from your confern facility on request.

City transport and confern
are a matter of course for us. We offer a wide range of services, from small removal vans with two to three men to complete removals in a full-service system. If you wish, we can also provide you with a removal van and driver if you want to do the loading and unloading together with friends.
Tax
The costs of a job-related move are fully tax-deductible, including all incidental costs - including your personal travel expenses. Renovation costs, especially those for better thermal insulation, are partially tax deductible.
Electricity supplier

Talk to your telephone provider. Cancellation of the old telephone connection and advice on the new connection should be given in good time.

Please give your confern advisor your telephone number where you can always be reached. We are always on time, unless a storm, force majeure, traffic accident or traffic jam interferes. In this case, we ask for your understanding, as it is beyond our control.
Carpet
You would like to have your existing carpet installed before moving into your new home: Talk to your confern advisor about it.
Dates
Talk to your confern advisor in good time about your moving date, even if this may still change. confern is always flexible when it comes to adjusting dates. Your confern advisor will draw up a timetable for your move after his first visit.
Frozen food
Freezers and refrigerators should not be connected to the mains until at least 45 minutes after transport. Only then will the refrigerant have calmed down so that the compressor cannot be damaged by bubbles.
Transport insurance
In order to spare you all conceivable inconveniences in the event of damage, we have developed a special transport insurance policy, the coverage of which goes far beyond the legal liability. Among other things, damage caused by an unavoidable event is also covered. You can insure your removal goods at current value or at replacement value. Tip
Our packers provide a personal service. If you are satisfied, it is customary to give them a tip. We call it a performance bonus. Talk to your moving consultant about the appropriate amount. If you give them the bonus cash, they will be happy to give you a receipt. If you are reimbursed for the moving expenses, or if you take them into account on your income tax return: Tips are part of the moving costs and are deductible special expenses.
Packaging services and confern
Good packaging requires special expertise. Particularly valuable sculptures, paintings, high-quality model railway equipment, medical-technical equipment or IT equipment are packed individually and elaborately, depending on the type of transport and the transport route. Valuables
All valuables such as cash, securities, jewellery, stamp collections, coin collections, etc. must be taken in your own car.
Terms of payment / payment deadline
Unless you have agreed otherwise, you pay either in cash or by cheque when unloading. Talk to your removal consultant about the terms of payment.
Customs
